ejabberd gives invalid name space error

I was using Tsung to test scalability of ejabberd. Tsung sends the following xml as the first message

<?xml version='1.0'?><stream:stream id='1' to='X.Y.com' xmlns='jabber:client' version='1.0' xmlns:stream='http://etherx.jabber.org/streams' xml:lang="en">

and ejabberd gives invalid name space error.

But if I send the XML without id=1,

<?xml version='1.0'?><stream:stream to='X.Y.com' xmlns='jabber:client' version='1.0' xmlns:stream='http://etherx.jabber.org/streams' xml:lang="en">

<?

 it works well and give an answer.

I use ejabberd 16.02 . Is there a way to fix this issue from ejabberd side

Hello,

Why would you send an id on stream opening tag ? This is not allowed by XMPP specification I think.

Best regards,
